And don't forget the perception that one looks better in an expensive bikini as opposed to a "cheap" one, even though no bikini that I know of covers up butt sag, a bulging tummy or several other figure problems the average American woman faces when trying on a swimsuit. I think I look adequate in my $1 Speedo one piece I got last summer at a yard sale.
